Our Team

Barbara Carlson is a retired school counselor. As a teacher, counselor and coach, she has worked with children of all ages and their families for 35+ years. Barbara holds master’s degrees in counseling and theology. She is active in the Methodist Church, where she has been a lay speaker and a member of the Caring Team.

Barbara has been a volunteer with Family Promise since 2015 and has been a Board Trustee since 2020. She is passionate about FPBC's mission and is excited to take on a new challenge within this organization.

Sharon was the previous Program Manager of the New Jersey Strengthening Families, Protective Factors Framework initiative through Montclair State University in Partnership with the NJ Department of Children and Families. Sharon spent her professional career working and advocating with Families for the services they need to thrive in the communities where they live. Building relationships, providing excellent customer service, and advocating with families together with community stakeholders are at the heart of everything she does.

Sharon received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Douglass College, Rutgers the State University of NJ, and her Master of Social Work degree from the School of Social Work at Rutgers University.
